GLADSTONE.
(Prom Our Own Correspondent). GLADSTONE, WeJnesday. • The recent rains on the ranges caused the Raamahanga River to rise over its banks from Te Whiti to the bridge at the Hotel. Mr J. Wall's property (late Rayuer's) was all under water, an! it was fortunate that no sheep vere grazing there, as it would have caused heavy mortality amongst them. The water was ia considerable depth over most of it and has left a large amount of silt, and the farm now presents a rather muddy appearance. Mr P. Dorset also suffered by the recent flood. Some of bis sheep were grazing on the riverbed at the time the river started to riae. Mr Dorset was away from hornp, and does not know how many sheep were lost as he did not know bow many were there at the time; but he states that some of them, swam through the heavy flood waier baok on to the farm and others were swept away in attempt ing it. Over 700 fat Down oross lambs were sent away from Mr K. Cooper's farm, yesterday, consigned to the Gear Meat Company.
