SIR JOHN GORST.

By Telegraph—Press Association. TE AWAMUTU M December 4. Sir John Gorst, after an absence of 43 years, is once more in the land of his useful labours on the hiatoiio plains of Waipa. A number of old half-caste and Maori pupils of the industrial school established by Sir Goo. Grey, prior to the Waikato war, welcomed Sir John on bis arrival. He was esoorted over the church and grounds, and on returning to the hotel was entertained at a banquet by the residents. At Webaroa the party made a short stay at the earnest request of Wiremu Tamihana, son nt the celebrated chief of that name, and originator of the King movement. They were entertained by over 100 Maoris, headed by Tamihana. After the feast Miss Qorst was presented with a handsome kiwi feather mat.
