TWENTY-FOUB MINERS KILLED. Reoeived October 16, 8.41 a.m. LONDON, October 15. An explosion occurred at Wingate Ooliery, in the south-east of the oounty of Durham. Twenty-seven bodies have been recovered. Thirty miners were rescued alive. It is feared that many others are still entombed. Reoeived October 17, 10.56 p.m. LONDON, October 16. The explosion at Wingate Colliery was heard four miles away. The victims were stonemen and shifters, who were preparing the «vorks for hewers. Owing to the rescue of some of those who were reported dead, the death roll is now 24. I
