S. MATTHEW'S SUNDAY SCHOOL.

An entertainment waa given in S. Matthew's School-room, last evening, by several local amateurs, \a aid of the fundß of tho Sunday School. Ibo hall was filled, and the programme submitted was an intereating one. The first part was a minstrel entertainment, in which Mr K. Aitkeu acted as interlooutor, and Messrs G. Rees, L. Nicol, A. 8. Rees and P. Todd as corner-men. Every item was loudly applauded by the audience, and the "gaga" of the cornermen were apparently appreciated. The items were as follow: Opening chorus, "In the Good Ola Summer Time," the Company; "A Hot Time in the Old Town," Mr K. Keith; song, "My Creole Belle," Miss Olive Richards; recitation, "The Soldier's Story," Mr P. Brown; song, "The Old Bull and Bush," Mr P. Todd; scng, "My Honey Boy," Miss Puller; eong, "Goodbye Little Girl," Mr W. Sigglekow; song, "Priscella," Mies V. Edwards; reoitation, "The Bash Christening," Mr G. Reos; song, "Asleep in the Deep," Mr Schubert. Thefirst part was concluded with B sketch, ) entitled, "Punnyman and tne Villain." Mr K. Aitken was "The Villain," Mr W. Siggfekow "1h.3 Hero," Mr Todd "TheMaiden," and Mr E. , Richards "The Funnyman." A coTuedj, entitled, "My Preserver," was staged in the aeoond part. The various parts were well sustained. Miss Olivo Richards mado a really good "Estolle Fitzwatere." Mr K. Aitkeu, as "William Bury" (the preserver), oarrjed out his part well, nod showed considerable ability. Mr P. Todd, as "Billberry," was oxoellcnt. The other parts, which were all iu capable Hands, were:—."Mr Mallable," Mr G. Roes; "Dr Fulsiord," Mr A. E. Rees, "Philip," Mr P. Brown; "Mary," Miss M. VVagg; "Dolly", Miss W. Jones; "Mrs Banter," Miss Fuller; "Miss Banter," Miss Barker. Misa W. Jones acted as pianist during the entortainment.
