TATTERS ALL'S SWEEPS. Reoeived August 28, 9.45 a.m. MELBOURNE, August 28. The Victorian Attorney-General has instituted an aotion, under the Act of George 11., claiming a penalty of £2OO from Abraham Moses, for procuring a ticket in a foreign lottery, namely, "Tattersall's Consultation." The question of whether uhe statutes of George 11. are in force and whether a lottery [drawn in Hobart is a foreign lottery has fceeu remitted to the Full Court.
RECIPROCITY PROPOSALS. Received August 28, 9.4 a.m. MELBOURNE, August 28. The proposed reciprocity with New Zealand is exciting interest among produce merchants. They assume that preference will only be shown it' the matter of special products of the respective countries, and that the introduction of New ; Zealand oats and potatoes free may imperil the Victorian products. A meeting of the trade has decided to memoralise the Federal Government ou the mattter. It is argued that the removal of the duty on Queens land sugar entering New Zealand would ill requite Victorian producers for open competition in oats and potatoes.
