They assume that preference will only be shown it' the matter of special products of the respective countries, and that the introduction of New ; Zealand oats and potatoes free may imperil the Victorian products. A meeting of the trade has decided to memoralise the Federal Government ou the mattter. It is argued that the removal of the duty on Queens land sugar entering New Zealand would ill requite Victorian producers for open competition in oats and potatoes.
