Reoeived July 8, 4.31 p.m NEW YORK, July 7. On his'reaohing New York President Roosevelt's carriage met Sir Joseph Ward and conveyed bim to Sagamore Hill, where he lunched with the President. Interviewed at Oyster Bay, Sir J. G. Ward referred to New Zealand' s surplus aa w?ol and kauri gum. With regard to reciprocity New Zealand was able to negotiate with the United States of America without reference to Great Britain. He was prepared to take he preliminary steps, and, on his departure to leave the matter in the bands of the' British Embassy. The leading New York editors lunched with Sir J. G. Ward at the Waldorf Hotel. ■ ■
