At a meeting of the Cricket Council, to-night, a oibleizram was received from Major Wardill asking whathe Council would give for a 50 days tour of the English team in. New Zealand. A disoussion took place as to whether it would be possible to hold one of the Austra-lian-English .test matches here during the Exhibition season, and it was decided to offer £1,500 for a 50 days' tour of the English team, £2,000 for a 50 days' tour and one test match between Australia and England, to be played in Christchuroh, or as an alternative, £1,250 plus 90 percent, of the net proceeds of the test match, the tour to be completed before Marob, 1907.
