VOLUNTEER NOTES.
EASIER ENCAMPMENTS. The Easter training camps whioh bare been arranged for this year by the DAfenoe Department are to be on a large scale and Held tiring is to be a prominent feature. The Wellington City volunteers to go under canvas at Oreytown will comprise 150 Navals from the Wellington and Petone companies, the whole of D .Battery, the First Wellington Rifle Battalion, and the Wellington Hearer Corps. The Second Battalion of Mounted Rifles will also attend the camp. This battalion comprises the Heretaunga, Wairarapa, Masterton, Eketahuna, and Pahiatua Mounted Rifle Companies. The camp will be under the command of Lieu-tenant-Colonel Collins, V.D. No. & Mounted Battalion will be under canvas at Poxton, under Major Tatum, and at Pahiatua the No. 5 Infantry Battalion will be in fixed camp under Lieutenant-Colonel Drummond. It is the intention of Colonel Webb, officer commanding the district, to be present at the Greytown camp.
