AN APOLOGY DEMANDED. Keceived January 21, 4.32 p.m. NEW YORK, January 20. There are three French warships on tbeJVenezuelan Coast awaiting the arrival of two others. President Castro's cool treatment of Mr Russell, United States Minister, is resented at Washington, and it is likely that an American warship will be sent to Venezuela. It is believed that Venezuela has intercepted three important French despatches. France has postponed further discussion of the [grievances until an apology has been received from the Venezuelan Government for the treatment of M. Taigny, French Charge de Affaires.
