DANNEVIRKE JOCK&iY CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual race meeting of the Dannevirke Jockey Club will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, March 7 and 8, for wbioh a very liberal programme ha 3 been provided. The ptnkes for the two days' amount to 1400 sovs, which sum is divided among the 1G ov«nts. For the first day's events 185 sovs have been allocated. The principle event, the Danuevirke Cup, receives 200 sovs, while the Flying Stakes and Tamak Welter, both open events, each receive 110 sovs. On the sceond day the chief event is the Autumn Haudicap of 125 sovs, and lOOsovs each for the March Handicap ajd Kaicoke Welter. The principle race in the hack division receives 100 sovs, the others varying from 50 bovs to 75 sovs. The liberal stakes provided will doubtless assure this popular Club of very satisfactory nominations, and itf should bo borne in mind that tho Club's course is so situated that visitors from Wairarapn can return the samo day, an important fact as far as the attendance of visitors is concerned. Nominations for all events except Trial Hack and Maiden Scurry closo with tho Secretary, Mr J. purs Freemuu, Danneviiko, at 9 p.m., ou Saturday, February 3. The telegraph office at Danuevirke closes at 8 p.m. WELLINGTON CUP. WELLINGTON, Jan 8. Aunittis and Solution 8.0, Armistice 7.G, Melodeon 7.4, Black Reynard. Makaroff and Delamere 7.2, Lyrist G. 12, Kopa 6.11, Cyrus 6.9, Sooil and Clanburn 6.7.
