THE WEATHER.
A HEAVY STORM. CHRISTCHURCH, January 2. A very heavy thundertorm broke over Christchurch shortly after 2 o'clock this afternoon. Vivid flashes of lightning were followed by heavy peala of thunder and a severe shower ot hail fell, the stones being larger than peas.
