LUNACY.
A district resident, who has shown signs of mental aberration, was, on the application of the Police, committed to Dunedin for medical examination.
CIVIL CASES.
D. Munro (Mr Fletcher) v. James Owen.— Claim of £3 17s Bd. In this case the defendant appeared and admitted the debt, and explained to the Court that he was prepared to pay the account at the rate of 10s per month — Mr Fletcher asked for an unconditional judgment. — His Worship said the Court had power (on sufficient cause being shown, such as sickness) to stay execution. — Mr Fletcher pointed out that the defendant had no seizable property.— His Worship : In that case it is the plaintiff who has cause to worry, and not the defendant. — Judgment for amount claimed, with costs (10s).
P. Cmnmings (Mr Finlayson) v. D. Munro and S. Smith (Mr Fletcher).— Claim of £8, value of a collie dog de« atroyed by defendants on or about 10th April, 1906.— Counsel for plaintiff explained that, owing to the absence of Mr Munro, he had not yet been served with the summons, and the case was adjourned to the 13th May.
