The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company (Limited) report for the week ended Jane 1, as follow* •— Wheat — Millers have again reduced the price of Soar,, and, having sufficient supplies meantime on hands, are not prepared to operate in wheat except at a further redaction on late quotations, which we again giye — say, for prime milling velvet and Tuscan, 3s 6d to 3s 94 : Kood to best,- 3s 3d to 3s si ; medium, 8g to 3s 2d ; Jbferior to whole fowFt wheat, 2s 8d to 2s 9d ; broken, 2s to 2s 6d (ex store, sacks weighed in, terms). Oats.— We quote prime milling, Is 8d to la S£d ; best bright feed, Is fd to is 7£d ; medium to good, 1b s|d to Is 6sd ; interior, Is 2d to 1* 4sd (ex store, sacks extra, net; |d per bnshel extra f.o.b. Donedin).

Barley.— Quotations — For prime malting, 3s 6d to 3« lOd ; medium to good, 3j to 3s 4d ; feed and milling, 2s to 2s 8d (tx Store, neks extra, terms). Grass Seeds. — There is *io change to report in the aspect of the market, which continues dull. Potatoes have no demand for export, and, with the home consumption not being sufficient to absorb the quarter gf the supply, in consequence sales are v§ry difficult to effect. So few being wantgjij best only fetch 30s to 355 ; others, 20s to 27s 6d per ton when sales can be made. Ghaff. — The market is barely supplied with really prime, bright, heavy, well cut chaff, which is fetching up to 52a 6-?, while a considerable quantity of inferior and discoloured is offering, ranging in price from 30s to 47a 6d per too. Dairy Produce. — Prime salt butter is in short supply. Dairy-made is selling at lOd to 10$ d ; factory-made, ll£d to Is. Flax. —There is no improvement to note in the tone of the market, which continues exceedingly dull, and very few (if any) sales are made at the moment. Quotations nominal.
