The rules of the Dunedin Jockey Club will be strictly enforced. No entry lo be received for any race exoept upon these conditions : lhat all disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or a majority of them ; and their decisions on all points connected with the carrying out of the above Programme to be final. No protest shall be entertained unless lodged in writing and accompanied with the sum of £2. Jockey costume insisted upon. Five pep cent, deducted from the gross amount of all stakes for expenses. Nominations for Novel' Race, Publicans Handicap, District Handicap, Lawrence Han* dioap, Flying Handicap, Hurdle Race, Stewards' Purse Handicap, Tuapeka County Jockey Club Handicap, and Handicap Time Trots to be made to the Secretary not later than Tuesday, 15th January, 1889, at 9 p.m. Nominations for Trots to be accompanied with pedigree (if any) acd previous performancei. Nominations for Maiden Plate to be lodged with the Secretary not later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 29th January, 1889. Weights for the Novel Race, Publicans' Handicap, .Three-mile Handicap, Time Trot, Hurdle Race, District Handicap, Lawrence Handicap, and Stewards' Purse Handicap will appear in the " Tuapeka Times " and " Daily Times" of Saturday, 19th January, 1889. Weights for the Flying Handicap, Tuapeka County Jockey Club Handicap, and Two-mile Handicap Time Trot will be posted up at the office of the Secretary at ten o'clock on the night of the first day's racing. Acceptances for Novel ' Race, Publicans Handicap, District Handicap, Lawrence Handicap, Hurdle Race, Three-mile Handicap Time Trot, and Stewards' Purse must be received not later than 9 p.m. on Tuesday, 29th January, 1889. All Nominations to be accompanied by fees, with name, age, and description of horse;, and colours of riders to be in the hands of the Secretary not later than the days and hours above mentioned. . H.
