The Rev. M. Baxter, a clergyman of the Church of England, recently delivered three lectures on prophetic events in Hope Hall, Liverpool. He said that the last 4&y of our age would be at 3 o'clock on Thursday, Uth April, 1901. He predicts that a universal war would wage from October 1896, to August, 1897, and then would come the three years and a-half of great tribulation, or the last Antichrist's persecution. He stated that millions of Christians would be everywhere beheaedd for refusing during that period to worship the Antichrist or his image. The lecturer gave the date March to October, 1896, when 144,000 watchful Christians would ascend from eartb to heaven. The descent of Christ at the Battle of Armageddon to destroy Antichrist and begin that Millennium he fixed upon as the 11th April, 1901. The lectures were illustrated by a number ' of dia : grams depicting horns, beasts, and symbolical figures mentioned in Daniel and Revelations. The lecturer challenged any minister or individual to show that ne had made any mistake in the facts he had mentioned, and added that to comprehend these things his hearers must take the eyeglasses of Daniel, the spectacles of Revelations, and the telescopes of Isaiah and Ezekiel.
