In again placing my services at your disposal, I rely with confidence upon your support. The business which, detains me in England, and which may possibly do so for another month, is the desire to further promote the development of important New Zeahnd industries, in which the commercial, mining, and agricultural classes in the Colony of New Zealand are especially interested. The Dissolution, you are aware, was brought about by a vote of the late House of Representatives, condemning the financial policy of the Government. I have not yet learned the details of that policy, nor what the Government propose doing, so cannot say whether I approve of it or otherwise. At tho same time, I am of opinion that the finances of the Colony require the most careful administration ; that the expenditure will have to be kept within reasonable limits ; and that the different departments of the Public Service will have to be carried on with tbe utmost economy consistent with efficiency. I shall be prepared, if honoured with your confidence, to give my cordial support to Ministers so long as they continue to give i affect to the principles of the Liberal party, with which, during a parliamentary career of orer twenty years, I have been associated. Faithfully yours, J. C. BROWN. London, 16th June, 1887. TENDERS. ttIENDERS WANTED for carting Oats ■*- from Tuapeka West to my Stores, Lawrence.
