Bxtenßide Yards— Wednesday. Fat Cattle. — An average supply was yarded to-day — viz., 211 head— about 100 of which were prime, aud the remainder inferior to medium. Bidding was unusually dull, and prices again low, a few pens of the best quality being turned out unsold. Bullocks sold at £3 17s 6d to £9 for very prime; cows, £2 10s to £7 2s 6d. Fat Calves. — Ten yar ed, and sold by L. Maclean (on behalf of the British and New Zealand Mortgage and Agency Co., Limited) at 6s to 11s. Fat Sheep. — In all 1841 were yarded, comprising 1681 crossbreds and 160 merinos, together with a few pens of fine extra wethers. At the opening of the Bales prices opened at a shade advance, but gradually receded a shade ; and taking it all through, prices were much the same as last week . Best crossbred w ethers brought 8s 9d to 10a 6d ; several extra heavy pens, 129 ; best ewes, 7s 6d to 9a 3d ; others, 4s 9d to 7s ; merinos, 3s to Bs. Fat Lambs, — A large supply was forward — viz., 590 — the larger portion of which were prime quality. The demand was limited, and prices ruled from 5s to 7s 9d. Horses. — Messrs Wright, Stepheusou and Co. quote first-class draught at from £23 to £30; medium, £14 to £20; first-class hacks and light-harness horses, £18 to £25 ; medium, £8 to £12 ; inferior, £3 to £6. Fat Pigs. — 147 were forward. The Mutual Agency Company sold 44 porkers on account of the Milton Dairy Company and others at 14s to 18s. Store Cattle. — Quiet well-bred cattle, in forward condition, find a market ; but owing to the poor prospects for feed meantime prices are in favor of buyers. Store Sheep. — There is some inquiry now for yoimg sheep, both merino aud crossbred, j which may lead to business. At present we are without any transactions to report. Property Sales. — Donald Keid and Co, report having sold during the month, privately, the well-known Lakcfield Farm, containing 114 acres, in West Taicri district, to Mr Charles Clark, at £26 por acte, cash j also, the farm at Henley known as Biddle's Farm, containing 221 acres, to Mr Alexander Fleming, at a satisfactory price. Rabbilskins. — Several lots were offered at last Monday's sales, but no improvement on last week's sales was effected, values still running low. The majority of the lots offered, however, were summer suck era, and inferior skins. Hides. — Prices remuin similar to previous quotations — viz., for heavy weights in good condition, 3^d to 4d ; medium, 3d to 3Jd; light, 2f d ; cut and bull bides, 2d to 2-j-d per lb. Tallow. — A fair demand continues to exist for all kinds coming forward, and the following prices are ruling : Prime rendered, up to £20 per ton; medium, £15 to £17 10s; rough fat, 7s to 11s per cwt. Sheepskins. — The usual weekly sales were held last Monday, and full catalogues were submitted. There was a large attendance of the trade, and all the lots were sold at prices similar to last week- -viz., full-woolled orossbreds and meriuos, 2s to 2s 4d ; medium do, Is lid ; lambskins, 6d to Is ; pelts, up to 9d ; skins in bales, 2d to 5d per lb.
