Sir Francis Dillon Bell, in a letter to the " Times," says it is uncertain whether New Zealand will place a loan in the market before June. The Sultan and Prince Alexander have arranged a personal meeting respecting Roumelian affairs. Sir Saul Samuel and Sir Daniel Cooper have been appointed Commissioners for New South Wales at the Indo-Colonial Exhibition. The Spanish Government have notified that they are not at present prepared to renew parleying in connection with the Anglo-Spanish Commercial Treaty. It is reported that Admiral Sir John Hay has been ordered to the Piraeus. Fifteen hundred Burmese were defeated at Kadal. The Greek fleet is at present in hiding. Considerable agitation is going »n among the inhabitants of Crete, and in consequence Turkish reinforcements have been despatched to the island to replace troops recently withdrawn.
