Bubnsidb Yabdß— Wednesday. Fat Cattle.— l7s head were yarded to-day at fiumside, about half of these being good to prime quality, the balan. c medium and inferior quality. Competition during the enrly part of the sale wus brisk, and prices obtained proved fully tqual to last week's; but as the sales progressed bidding became less animated, and towards the close values were somewhat less than at the commencement. Best bullocks brought from £8 to £10; others, £4 to £7 15 ; cows brought in proportion. Fat Calves. — Nine penned, and sold at from 5s to 12 6d. Fat Sheep — 2893 were penned to day, of which 250 were merinos, the balance oroasbred?, ranging from medium to prime quality. At the commencement of the market, price* obtuined were about equal to last week's quotations, but as the sales progressed bidding became languid, and Bales were difficult to effect at almost any price, the result being that a large numbed were turned out unsold to bo held for next week's market. Best crossbred wethers krought from 6s 6d to 9s 9d ; a few heavy-weights up to 10s 6d ; others, 5s to 6s 3d ; merinos, 3i 9d to 4s 6d. Fat Lambs.— 9lo penned. The demani was very alack, and prices were ruling low. Best sorts brought from 6s to 7s 9d ; others, 3s to 5s 6J. L. Maclean sold 91 for Mr A. North (Portobello), at from 5s 3d to 5s 6d.

Horse*. — Messrs Wright, Stepbenson, and Go. quote first -class draughts at from -624 to £30; medium, £15 to £21; first-class hacks and light-harness horsen,£lß to £25 ; medium, £10 to £14 ; inferior, £5 to £7.

Fat Pigs. — 209 penned. The greater part were stores and suckers, and prioes for these were low. Porkers and bacon pigs wero also in less demand.

Store Sheep.— On account of the continued drought and scarcity of grass there are no transactions talcing place. Sheepskins.— Dry crupsbreds, Is 7d to 3s Id ; do merinos, Is to 2s 9d ; dry pelts, 2d ; green do, 3£d to 6d ; lambskins, 6d to Is.

Rabbitskius. — Small catalogues were offered at Monday's sale to the usual representatives of tho trade ; but these consisting chiefly of suckers and summer skins, competition was rather slack, prices ranging from Id to sd. Hides. — A good demand exists for all coming forward in sound condition, but, however, prices remain at late quotations, which are as follow :— Heavy weight, 3fd to 4d \ medium, 3*d to 3£d ; Jight, 3d ; cut, slippy, and bull, 2d to 2-Jd.

Tallow. — All consignments coming to hand meet with a ready sule at prices equal to late current rates. Quotations : Rough fat, 7s to 11s ; inferior, 12s to 14s 6d ; medium, 15s to 17s 6d ; prime, 11s to 19s per cwfc.
