Several of the country School Committees have already nominated Messrs M'Kenzie and Clark to fill the vacancies on the Education Board. Both these gentlemen are almost certain of re-election. A woman named Mary Barnes, who had been living with a Chinese hawker in Dunedin for the past five years, died suddenly on Sunday morning. The jury returned a verdict to the effect that she died from heart disease, accelerated by excessive drinuing. The Dunedin City Council have 160 men of the " unemployed M at work, 18 of them being at stonebreaking.
