(From our own Correspondent.) Dunedib", August 21st. The Poultry, Dog, and Bird Show has, so far, proved a great success. Messrs Neill Bros, have intimated, to their creditors that they have suspended payments. Their liabilities are about £50,000, the principal creditors being outside the Colony. The firm's bankers are understood to be fully secured. An application has been made in Christchurch to the Judge to change the venue of the libel case against the Wellington "Press" in connection with the Christchurch Hospital scandal. The charge of publishing a supplement without an imprint, brought against the proprietor of the Marlborough "Times," was heard, by the E.M., who said that as it was an act of great carelessness, he would not deal with the case under section 18, which imposed a minimum fine of £5 and a maximum one of £20 on every copy up to twenty ; but under section 22 he inflicted a fine of 10s and costs. An Auckland contractor (MrKirby) has issued a writ against the City Council there for £2,560, in connection with several contracts which, the Council terminated and completed at his risk. The Home Industry branch of the Wellington Exhibition will be opened to-morrow. n
