This Company is formed for the purpose of urchasing and working on an extended basis the.claims known, as the Great Extended and Haffs jmd Hinde's, and situated at the famV oasVßme^Spur, at 'the head of Gabriels Golly. The price to be paid to the present proprietors for the claims, comprising 14 acres o auriferous land, together with plant and maf chinery, erected al a cost of over £7090, and valuable water rights, is £11,250 ; in part pay meut of which they will take 2000 shares inthe Company, upon which 15s psr share shall have been registered as paid up, and the balance of the purchase-money as may be arranged with the Company. In the past these claims have been worked at » great disadvantage, owing to the peculiar way in which they were originally taken up. The.frequent transgression of boundaries has been 'from the first a prolific source of liligation,"resulting in a serious loss to both owners^ By working the two claims under the one proprietary, and the erection of improved machinery, a much greater quantity of cement can be crushed than hitherto, and at an estimated saving of 25 per cent, in labour aione. The claims are situated near the centre of the basin forming the Blue Spur, and em. brace nearly the whole of the gutter, where, as is well known, the richest cement has hitherto been found. Messrs Connell and Moodie have recently surveyed the claims, and certify the quantity of cement standing on the Company's ground to be 2,231,500 cubic yards. Their report and certificate can be seen at the office of the Brokeri.^ The extent of the auriferous ground being so great, it is estimated that, using the present appliances for working, the claim could not be exhausted in less tban 50 years. As an indication o f the value of the cement it may be stated that it was assessed by the Court tn June 1880, in givirg judgment in an action between the Extended Company and Messrs French and Company, at twelve •hillings and ninepence per cubic yard, and the amount of the verdict was based upon that value. In November 1879 an encroachment dispute between the Great Extended Company and Messrs Hales and Hinde was settled by the payment of 25s per cubic yard, after deducting working expenses. As a further test of the value of the claims, a return has been prepared from a statement furnished by the Bank of New Zealand of the quantity of gold purchased from the Great Extended Company, and from the books of the late firm of Hales and Hinde. Arrangements have now been made to amalgamate with the adjoining Claim (the North of Ireland) for the purpose of sluicing • ltrge are* of surface cement, which, although well known to be highly auriferous, could not be sluiced to advantage prior to che amalgamation. It is seldom the public have an opportunity of investing in a -mining property, tbe value of which is so well attested by past operations as that owned by this Company, and which will yield handsome and regular returns, commencing at once. • Applications for shares will be received by the Brokers, from whom any further information required my be obtained.
