(Reuter's Special.) Melbourne, June 20th. Shipping wheat is quoted at 4s lid ; market dull. No business is doing in malting barley or New Zealand oats. June 21st. The " Argus " to-day announces that it has despatched its Fiji special correspondent to New Guinea, and that he left Cooktown yesterday for that island. With the exception of South Australia, all the colonies have intimated their willinguesa to share in the expenses of the annexation of the New Hebrides. , A number oi Australian colonists of Irish extraction, hare guaranteed the sum of £1000 towards the testimonial which is being raised in recognition of MrPamell's patriotic services. SYDintT, June. 2oth. . The libel cage Anderson v. Proprietors of the "Sydney. Morning Herald" was concluded to-day. The jury returned a verdict for plaintiff, damages £450. Launoksxon, June 20th. An inquiry has' been held into the cir- , cumstances attending the of the Asterope at Low Head. The Court found the captain 'guilty of neglect, but the final decision has not yet been arrived at.
