S M I T H i •*-' (The only legally-qualified medical man ? advertising) ( CO US U Ll S — 5 r On all affections of the Ifervous Syßtem s (no matter fi-om what cause arising). \ On all broken-down constitutions. t On all diseases arising from early indiacre- ; tions. c On Gout. On Rheumatism. In these colonies, those excesses which we have indulged in " hot youth " tell upon us " with fearful interest. Our regrets are useless, our repinings futile. The soul idea would be the ohances we possess of remedying the ills we already have, or combating the effects likely to result. Hide it as he may, put on as good exterior as he can, otill is the victim conscious that he is a living lie, and that sooner or later his vices will discover him to the world. Our Faith, our obligations to society at large, the welfare of our future offspring, and the duty, we owe to ourselves forbids procrastination, and points out to us, not to wait till the ravages break out in our constitutions. Before negociating with a merchant, before engaging with a confidential clerk ; before employing a barrister, a careful man makes enquiries as to their stsnding, their length of occupancy or residence ; and, in the case of a legal adviser, both as to his legal qualifications and as> to his capabilities of transacting ■* the individual business he consults him upon. Strange to say, however, in the selection of a medical man, the sufferer frequently omits these necessary precautions and without regard to the fitness, qualification, experience and ability for the particular ailment requiring treatment, he consults the nearest man, whose experience and practice, perhaps, lies in quite au opposite direction. Is it astonishing that so many are driven mad, aye mined in health, and are bankrupt in spirits, hope and money ? Have I not for years pointed out to them that /, Dr. L. L. Smith, am the only legally qaalijied medical man advertising in the colonies ? Have I not also prosecuted at my own expense, these very quacks, and exposed the various nostrums they aye selling, — such as phosphodyne, Essence of Life, &c. — and had them analysed and found them to consist of " Burnt Sugar 3 and flavoring matter," and the certificates I (■ have phoved to be all forgeries. It is for this I reason that I step out of the ethics and advertise, to gite those who require the services C of my branch an opportunity of knowing they I can consult a legally qualified man, and one moreover, who has made this his especial study. Dr. L. L" Smith is the only legally quali- I fied medical man advertising, and he has C been in Melbourne 24 years in full practice on I Nervous Diseases Loss of Power ana Debility Syphilitic Affections V Want of Condition Ghout and Rheumatism Dr. L. L. SMITH can be consulted by j letter— Fee, £1. Medicines forwarded to all the colonies. 0 Db. L. L. SMITH, 182 Collins st.Eaßt, t] (Late the Residence of the Governor.) 81 MEIiBOUENE
