Captain of Girls’ Cricket Married To-day. MARTIN—SYMONS. The marriage was celebrated to-day at St Mark’s Church, Opawa, of Ruth Evelyn, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. R. Symons, Opawa, and Lester Charles Trevor, eldest son of Mr C. Martin, and #ie late Mrs Martin. Miss Symons is captain of the Canterbury Girls’ Cricket team.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white Batin wedding gown, its long train edged with kilting. The draped neckline was also trimmed with kilting, and was caught at the shoulder with a spray of orange blossom. Her embroidered tulle veil was held with a circlet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of white begonias, roses and carnations. Mrs B. W. Rogers, sister of the bride, as matron-of-honour, wore a Marine blue crepe dress, its cowl neckline finished with a silver clup- The skirt had four inset panels of kilting. She wore a small blue and pale yellow Juliet cap, and carried begonias and iris to match.

The bridesmaid. Miss Doris Preece, wore a bon-bon pink taffeta dress checked with silver, with a collar edged with pleating, and wide pleated sleeves. Her cap was pink and silver, and she carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums, carnations and bouvardia

A reception was aftervrards held at the Staretta Hall, Wilson’s Road.

Mrs Symons received the guests wearing a navy blue phantom crepe dress trimmed with kilting, with an inset vest of printed silk. Her bouquet was of flame gerberas and begonias. Mrs Martin, stepmpther of the bride, groom, wore a wineberry ripple crepe dress trimmed with beige, and a beige felt hat. She carried apricot-shaded gladioli and dahlias.. For travelling the bride wore a brown tailored suit, and a brown felt hat.
