AT RICCARTON.
Quiet Morning on the Tracks. Mild conditions again prevailed during training hours at Riccarton this morning. As many horses engaged at the South Canterbury meeting raced at Ashburton on Saturday, there was not a great deal doing. The No. 7 grass was available for fast work. Haere Tonu sprinted doiyn the straight. Copyist went nicely in covering six furlongs in lmin 16 3-ssec. Scarlet Rambler and Heather Glow went six furlongs in lmin 17 2-ssec. Quietly occupied lmin 20 2-ssec over a similar task. Madame Pompadour and Hostile ran half a mile in 50sec, the last three furlongs in 37 3-ssec. Strong Light and Sibella went six furlongs in lmin 17 4-ssec. Imperial Spear, with a good pull in the weights, was in front of Rebel Star when five furlongs had been run in lmin 4 2-ssec. Knowledge and War Knight galloped half a mile in 50 3-ssec. Ramo, Lowater and Gayspear ran six furlongs in lmin ISsec. Final Shot and Silver Step covered six furlongs in lmin 17 3-ssec. Royal Amphora dashed over five furlongs in lmin 2sec. Grecian Prince, after playing up a good deal, sprinted three furlongs. Aladdin did a working gallop over a mile.
