DOUBLE WEDDING

Of Special Interest to W.D.F.U. Members. GOOCH—JACKSON. KEN N V—J AC &SON. A double wedding which aroused great interest throughout New Zealand took place on Saturday afternoon at St Matthew's Church, Masterton. The brides were Roma arid Margaret, daughters of Mr and Mrs C. C. Jackson, “ Valdor,” Kopuaranga. Last year Mrs Tackson was Dominion president of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, and has many friends throughout New Zealand who are members of this organisation. Miss Roma Jackson, who was married to Mr Leigh Gooch, son of Mr J. H. Gooch, late of London, was attended by Miss Edith Bennett as bridesmaid, and Mr John Latten, of Hastings, was best man. The other bride, Miss Margaret Jackson, was attended by Miss Marjory Kenny at her marriage to Mr Max Kenny, son of Mr and Mrs George Kenny, of Picton, and Mr Ivan Jackson, the bride’s brother was best man. Both brides w r ore beige rose gowns finished with a velvet bow at the back, and long pink tulle veils. Their two little nephews! Rodney and David Carter. were pages. The Rev E. J. Rich, Vicar of St Matthew’s, performed the ceremony, and Mrs F. J. Ilunn was the organist. A reception was held afterwards at the home of the brides, and in the evening Mrs Jackson entertained a large number of guests at a dance in the Kopuaranga Hall.
