WOMEN’S GOLF.
Final Day of Russley Open Tournament. WIN FOR MRS R. LEWIS. The final matches of the women's open golf tournament at Russley were played to-day under ideal conditions. The day was warm, a light easterly blowing. The course was in excellent order. Players appreciated the change from the mixture of hail, rain and snow, experienced on the first two days of the tournament. Senior and junior stroke handicaps were played this morning. The winner in the senior division was Mrs R. Lewis, of Templeton, who returned a fine card of 87-14-73, a net total one under the scratch score at the course, and four strokes ahead of the next best. The junior winner was Miss C. Mitchell, of Russley, whose score was 95-19-76. Mrs B. Norton returned the same score, but as she had won a handicap match earlier in the tournament she was not eligible for to-day’s trophy. A four-ball bogey competition was decided this afternoon. Results:— Senior Stroke Match.
