MEAT PARLEY.

BRITAIN TO TALK WITH DOMINIONS. Agreements Sought. PERCENTAGE RESTRICTION OF IMPORTS. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received April 20, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 19. The “ Manchester Guardian ” understands that negotiations are shortly to be opened with the Dominions in respect to meat. The Government hopes that the Dominions will agree to a percentage restriction commensurate with the supplies at present entering Britain. If the negotiations are successful the Argentine will be approached for a pro rata increase in the restriction of meat imports from there. The “ Morning Post ” understands that the Government will shortly open negotiations with the dominions for new meat agreements to replace those arranged at Ottawa, with a parallel reduction of imports from Argentina.
