WOOL SALE.

Prices Slightly Easier at Napier. PASSINGS FREQUENT. Per Press Association. NAPIER. April 19. The final wool sale at Napier to-day did not create a great deal of enthusiasm among growers, due probably to the bulk of the wool being that left over from previous sales. Bidding was fairly erratic at times, and, generally speaking, prices were slightly lower than those of March. Passings were fairly frequent, due for the most part to growers’ reserve* being too high for sales to be made. Competition came largely from Bradford and the Continent, representatives from each competing equally except for a few lots upon which there was keen competition. The offering was 4130 bales and it was reported that it would just about dispose of the old season’s and this season’s wool, and, by the time shipment to London was made, it was anticipated that there would be only a small quantity of wool left in brokers' stores, or in station sheds. This would be the means of giving a clean start to the wool sales next season. In some cases the re-offered wool made more than similar lines did at the March sale, while others realised Id to lid lower. Realisations mav be quoted firm on recent sale at ganui. Medium and cross-bred wools were very dull. Germany and the Continent sought many lots of half-bred and extra fine wools, which sold satisfactorily. Medium to coarse qualities sold at Id less and Southdowns were 2d to 3d down on the last Napier sale. All told, there appears to have been 30 per cent of passings. , Range of Prices. Following is the range of prices, together with that of the fourth sale:—
