KAIKOURA TROTS.

Programme Gives Promise of Good Racing. I LIKELY CANDIDATES. The Kaikoura Trotting Club will ! hold its annual meeting tomorrow, and j there seems every prospect of a sue- j cessful fixture if the weather be kind j This club was to have raced on March 11, but unsatisfactory entries caused the abandonment of the date ft fared very much better when it called for nominations for to-morrow’s meeting, and the acceptances proved good, both in respect to numbers and quality, in the classes catered for. The generous policy of the club towards owners in the matters of norm- j nation fees and transport has thus been ■ well rewarded. Single-pool betting on the two-divi-dend system will operate. Race Prospects. Although several promising novice pacers are engaged in the Improvers' Handicap, the two-year-old Grace M’Elwyn will more than hold her own against older rivals. She raced excep tionally well at Cheviot and has done very well since. She is a member of R. B. Berry’s stable. Kraal and Dolly* dora are trained at ftew Brighton and are capable of pacing a good mil**: Prince dc Oro is also a good soi t, but Real Pal will be favoured and will probably justify' the support accorded him. Grace M’Elwyn and Dollydora may also be well backed. For the Stewards’ Handicap, RoyM Parrish has the best form to recommend him. Kotinga will race well, and Header won at Keefton in January as if he would win again. Royal Parrish and Kotinga show the most promise. The Kaikoura Handicap has attracted eight useful pacers and it should be a good betting 'race. The Edwards representative, Lucky Guy, will have most friends. He is a good horse. Carnera also has improved, and Royal Escort has won over two miles. Attorney will race well. Lucky Guy. Carnera and Attorney may dispute the prize money. Bide-a-Wee, Dollydora. Kraal. Grace M’Elwyn and Prince de Oro are engaged in the Kekerangu Handicap. Dollydora and Bide-a-Wee mav race well. For the Suburban Handicap, Royal Parrish will have numerous supporters, but if Dynasty is in a good humour he may' outstay Roy'al Parrish. Nobleman and Bettv Axworthy are on the front in the President’s Handicap. Real Burton. Attorney', Carnera and Golden Dollar will also have to be reckoned with. Summed j up, Nobleman, Golden Dollar and Real Burton may be prominent. Bide-a-Wee also figures in the Kaiterau Handicap. Real Pal is the most likely to trouble Bide-a-Wee. If reserved for the Farewell Handicap, Social Pest should be on the pre mises, but he will have to be in his best humour to beat Golden Dollar. Camera and Lucky Guy. The programme is:—
