RECREATION CLUB.
Meeting of St Albans Members. The forty-second annual meeting of the St Albans Recreation Club.finc.) was held this week. Air J. W. H. Francis presiding. On the motion of Air <*. Ayers, the balance-sheet, which showed receipts £239 7s 7d, expenditure £231 11s Id, balance U.B.A. £2B 6s 7d, P.O. S.B. £7O 78 7d, in hand £3 13a 2d, was taken as read. The chairman, in moving the adoption of the annual report, said that financially the club was in an excellent position. He appealed to members to make an effort to Increase the membership. Mr A. Day’s motion, “ that th« resolution concerning cricket membership passed at the thirty-ninth annual meeting held on April 23. 1931, be rescinded,” was carried unanimously. This means that the cricket cjub is once again open to the general public, and is not limited to members and ex-members of the Recreation Club and ex-members of the cricket club. The following officers were elected: President, Mr J. W. H. Francis (reelected); vice-presidents, Messrs L. A. Gordon, A. C. Wilson. J. G. Cook, J. N. Du Feu, C. Hall, R. Rundle. C. R. Watkinson, C. Spicer, J. W. Beanland and E. R. Caygill; secretary, Mr C. J. M. Winter (re-elected); treasurer. Air E. H. C. Bidder (re-elected); executive. Messrs L. Gapes, C. Ayers. R. Cockayne, A. Day, C. Franklin, H. Wilson and J. Winter; auditors, Messrs H. E. Powell and AI. Chappie (re-elected) ; librarian. Mr L. Gapes (re-elected); delegate to A.C.P.A.), Mr W. H. Day (re-elected): sub-committees-—euchre assembly, Mr R. Cockayne, with power to add; furnishing fund. Alessrs C. Ayers, A. Day and the secretary (ex officio); publicity officer, Air J. Winter.
