Miner Stops Train and Saves Crash. LONDON. April 13. When a motor-bus crashed from Pontypoo! Read, down an embankment, to block the railway line 40 feet below, a miner, Nicholas Jordain, smashed a window, broke into a locked signal box, and telephoned to Pontypool station. Me then experimented with different levers until he set the signals at “ danger, ’ thus pulling up an oncoming train. Twelve passengers in the bus were injured.
