TROTSKY A FUGITIVE.
Threats of Assassination Made. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, April 16. The Paris correspondent of the “ Daily Mail ” says that M. Leon Trotsky and his wife left Barbizon in a closed car for an unknown destination. probably outside France. Some staff is remaining in the villa to carry on the work of the Fourth Internationale. The French Press, excepting Socialist newspapers, attack M. Chau temps, who, when in power, permitted M. Trotsky to live in France. M. Chautemps says that M. Trotsky was told that he did so at his own risk. The Paris correspondent of the “ Daily Telegraph ” states that it has been officially explained that M. Trotsky and his wife were authorised to leave for Corsica. Owing to threats of assassination, thev went to Royon, where they received more threats. They were permitted to move again and to use another name.
