The following is a list of the mile record holders in New Zealand, ing how the speed of trotters and pacers has developed during the present century: Trotters. 1599 Fritz. 2min 13sec, at Christchurch Show Grounds. 1910—Revenue, 2min 11 4-ssec (saddle), at Forbury. 1933 Todd Lonzia, 2min Osec, at Addington. 1934 — Worthy Queen. 2min 3 3-ssec, at Addington. Pacers. 1903—Ribbonwood, 2min 9sec, at Addington. 1911 —King Cole. 2min S 3-o?ec, at Addington. 1912—Emmeline, 2min S 3-3 sec, at Forbury. 1915 Country Belle. 2min 7 l-ssec, at Addington. 1916 — Adelaide Direct, 2min 6 2-ssec, at Auckland. 1917 — Our Thorpe, 2mir» 6 l-ssec, at Addington. 1919—Author Dillon, 2min 6sec. at Addington. 1923 Happy Voyage. 2min 4 l-ssec, at New Brighton. 1924 Acron. 2min 3 3-ssec, at Addington. 1934—Auburn Lad, 2min 2 2-ssec, at Addington. All of these records were established in trials against time, with the exception of Acron’s, which was accomplished in winning the Free-for-All.
