ANGLICAN SYNOD.

Session Continued at Napier. Per Press Association HASTINGS, April 16. The Anglican Synod resumed its session at Napier to-day. A motion moved by Archdeacon Whitehead (Dunedin) and discussed in committee was passed as follows: “That the bench of Bishops be respectfully requested to consider the permissive use of Holy Communion by instinction and if their lordships think it expedient, to issue instructions to the clergy regulatitig such permissive use.” Following a lengthy discussion, a motion originally including a provision to the effect that from January 1, 1936, the General Synod should be responsible for £SOO per annum to assist the work of Bible class unions was redrafted. The motion eventually carried provided for an expression of appreciation of the development of the movement and requested the Archbishop to constitute a Youth Council of the Church of the Province of New Zealand to foster and develop the work of Bible class unions and all other youth movements in the Church. Speakers on the original motion pointed out that the Synod was not in a position to make itself responsible for £SOO for three years.
