MUSICAL SOCIETY.
The Royal Christchurch Musical Society's performance of *' Klijah ” at the Civic Theatre on April 24 promises to he exceptionally attractive. The soloists are reliable, the excellent qualities °f Mrs R. A. Lawson as a soprano being: well known in Tims.ru and Ashburton. Listeners-in are familiar with Miss Alice Virsen’s beautiful voice, and will undoubtedly take pleasure in her personal appearance witlt Ihis lr-ge choir. Mr Charles Clarkson is probably the best Klijah in New Zealand: bis performances in this rol« have been outstandimr. Mr Robert Samson is leading: tenor, and bis previous public appearances fully justify his eng-.nement. Mr W. fT. Rixon. the musical director, has received great praise from renowned Knglisb critics for his sound reading of the - Klijah ” score.
