Swimmer Kicks Free and Swims Ashore. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received April 16, noon.) BRISBANE, April 16. Frank Uett, aged thirty-four, who was surfing at Currumbin Beach, Southport, was attacked by a shark, and his left leg was badly lacerated. Although the arteries and tendons were severed, Uett kicked vigorously. He found that his leg was released, and swam a distance of thirty yards to the shore unaided. He was admitted to hospital, where he was operated cn. He is expected to recover.
