U.S. WHEAT CARRY-OVER.
United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. WASHINGTON, April 14. America will probably request an increase in her export quota under the World Wheat Agreement, if the system of minimum export prices, agreed upon at the Rome Conference, becomes effective. It was indicated by Agricultural Department officials to-day that the existing domestic carry-over of 400,000,000 bushels will be augmented by about 80.000,000 bushels from the current crop, therefore it will require an appreciable increase on the 47.000,000 bushels export quota. This is relatively small in comparison with the Argentina’s 100,000,000, Australia’s 105,000,000 and Canada's 200,000,000 bushels. The officials said, however, that they favoured, in principle, the fixing of minimum export prices.
