STSAMER SHORT OF COAX.. AUCKLAND, April 16. Advice lias been received that the steamer Tofua which sailed on Thursday en route to Japan is returning to port owing to shortage TROT ATTEMPTS. A charge for admission will bfe made at the Addington Trotting Grounds to-morrow when Walla Walla and Worthy Queen will attempt to set new pacing and trotting records. Originally it was decided to take up a collection but an admission price of one shilling was fixed after a consultation.
