Time—3min 371 sec, a course recorcf. SUCCESS FOR A. E. ELLIS. SYDNEY, April 14. The track was heavy to-day for the Canterbury Park meeting. The first division of the Marden Welter Handicap, of six furlongs, was won by Colenso 9.9 ridden by the New Zealander, A. E. Ellis, with Wairuna 8.0 (O’Sullivan) second and Top Royal 7.12 (Cork) third. There were twelve starters, and Colenso won by a head, the time being lmiix 19sec. Loyal Verde won the Flying Handicap. with Persian second and Atucas third. TROT RE-ASSESSMENTS.
