POULTRY AUCTIONS.
IT. C. Smith, of the City Market, reports that the market has now settled down following the Easter sale, when supplies were beyond demand and consequently prices eased considerably. Prices are now expected to keep steady for some time. At Wednesday's and Friday’s sales good entries came forward, especially in pullets, wheth were in demand right through the sale. Prices were as follows:—Pullets to 7s 6d, cockerels to 6s Bd, Pekin ducks to 8s for odd extra good lines, Runners to 4s 9d, good drakes 5s 6d, geese (good supDly) 5s to 6s, hens, whites 2s Sd to 3s 3d, heavy breeds to ss, small cockerels (demand poor). There was a large entry of cage birds. Canaries to 7s 6d, zebras 7s 6d, hen canaries Is 6d to 3s, three birds and cage 12s 6d. 1
