Clara Bow makes her latest screen appearance in “ Hoopla,” which will be the leading attraction at the Majestic Theatre on Monday. In this story of carnival life that dramatises the hatreds, desires, romance, and the loves ot the “ big top,” the famous redheaded star is said to reach the highest point of achievement in her colourful career. Clara Bow is seen as a fiery carnival dancer, and the environment of the open-air show forms a kaleidoscopic background for her constantly-changing emotions and the fire of her personality ■ The story is built around this young artist, who makes a wager that she can win the love of a certain young man. The young man in question happens to be the son of the carnival’s chief “barker.” He is a youth whose nature is far removed from the hectic surroundings of; the fair ground and he falls an easy prey to the polished wiles of the dazzling dancer. The boy’s father objects to the affair and there follows a series of incidents in which these three attempt to straighten out their tangled lives. The cast in support of Clara Bow is headed by Preston Foster and includes the talented comedian Herbert Mundin, James Gleason, Minna Gombell, Roger Imhof, and Florence Roberts.
