CHRISTMAS DANCE.

Combined Staffs of C.A.A. and Motor Union. MANY GUESTS OF HONOUR. The happy spirit of goodfellowship which prevails among the staffs of the Canterbury Automobile Association and the South Island Motor Union Insurance Company led to an enjoyable evening being spent by the members in the C.A.A. hall last night at their first combined staff dance. With a year’s hard w’ork behind them and the spirit of Christmas in the air, the staffs and their friends were in festive mood, which even the humid conditions could not mar. Blue and white streamers (the union colours) formed a canopy in the hall, wdth a cluster of blue balloons and a gay Chinese lantern in the centre. Multi-coloured streamers shaded the other lights and bowls of blue and white flow'ers w'ere arranged in the corners of the room. Upstairs, where bridge was played by those who did not wish to dance, a similar colour scheme made an attractive decoration. Music for dancing was supplied by the Danielli Orchestra. The guests of honour w’ere: Mr P. R. Harman, general manager of the S.I.M.U. Insurance Company, Mr W. R. Carev, chairman of the South Island Motor Union, and Mrs Carey, Mr and Mrs H. C.
