CANTERBURY COLLEGE.
Amendment to Bill Made by Parliament. (“Star” Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, December 15. The House yesterday agreed to the Legislative Council’s amendment to the Canterbury University College Bill. The amendment requires the consent of the Minister of Education before any funds are diverted for the erection of residence hostels or boarding-houses. In moving that the House agree with the amendment Mr Forbes described it as quite reasonable. He said that the Minister should be in a position to know what was being done with the money. ______________
