Y outh’s Propensity for Theft. William John Davidson, a labourer, 17£ years of age, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon to the theft of £2 5s 6d at Scargill. the property of Wallce Fleming, wilfully dmaging two mony boxes belonging to Fleming and the theft of a bicycle at Christchurch valued at £2 and belong* in to Albert Brown. It was stated in evidence that Davidson had been working for Fleming and left with two money boxes. When interviewed by the police conceftiing a bicycle in his possession, he admitted having stolen it from Christchurch. Accused was convicted and ordered to be detained in the Borstal Institution for two years. “ This lad's propensity for theft has get the better of him.” said the Magistrate, (Mr E. D Mosley).
