BRIGHTON CARNIVAL.
I lie Finance and Advertising Committee for the New Brighton carnival met in the Council Chambers, and completed the details of the preliminary organisation, it was resolved to establish a permanent office at No. 7, Sea View Road. The treasurer advised that approximately £IOO had been guaranteed to the committee by sports organisations and some individual members. The Festival Sub-committee met under the chairman (Air T. E. Thompson) and a full programme of processions, dancing-, band music and masquerade was drawn up. The bathing Beauty Sub-committee met under the chairman (Air C. A. Cooper), and a full parade, and the organisation. The Side-show Committee met under the chairman (Air L. G. Moore) and discussions took place as to space available and the locations of the various stalls. The Sports Sub-committee met under the chairman (Air G. A. Alalaquin) and a very full programme of activities was discussed. This side of the carnival will have a big following, as the plans provide for an athletic meeting, with running, chopping and wrestling, a surf carnival, af tennis tourney, bowling tourney, motor speedboat taxis and children’s sports days.
