ROSE SHOW.

Display at Kaiapoi. The rose show conducted by St Bar-' tholomew’s Church, Kaiapoi, was held in the Orange Hall yesterday afternoon. There were large entries in most sections and an excellent display of roses and other flowers. The champion bloom of the show was exhibited by Mr L. Stead, Ouruhia, who won a cup for most points in the flower section. The floral exhibits were judged by Mr VST. Jones the needlework by Mrs L. B. Evans and Miss N. Kutley, the cookery by Miss A. Young, the home industries by Mrs FT Cox and the writing and drawing by Messrs D. G. Wilson and L. Billeliff. The following were in charge of the stalls:—Sweets, Mesdames L. Giles and K. Hoyle: pot plants, Mrs J. A. Mealings; bran tub, Mrs H. Arps; cake and afternoon tea, Mrs H. Hutchinson. tiJ Sll ° w .i wa n formally opened bv the Rev w - H - A. Vickery.
