GIRL IN A TANK
FRENCH KIDNAPPER. Eight years ago a pretty little fourteen-year-old girl named Aurelia Boniporte, of Buenos Ayres, attracted the attention of a young Frenchman. It was an unlucky moment for her, for he pestered her with protestations of his love and wanted her to elope with him. Little Aurelia laughed and made fun of the affair. Finding that she was firm in refusing his suggestions, the lover decided upon desperate measures. When he found her alone one day he kidnapped the girl and carried her off to a lonely district where lie had secreted a disused iron tank. In this he has kept her for eight years, visiting her each night and locking her up when he left to attend his work during the day. The affair was discovered recently when a passing horseman heard strange sounds coming from inside the old tank. The police were informed, and inside they found Aurelia Boniporte, naked and lying on a few old grain bags. Now. though she is only 22 years old, the girl’s mind is seriously affected and she is unable to remember even her own name.
