PENNIES FOR TOYS.
FOR RELIEF WORKERS’ CHILDREN. If some child is missed by Santa Claus, -what a tragedy it will appear to the child! Just picture the despair if one of your own kiddies if he or she received no toy at Christinas. Possibly it can’t happen in your family. But it may happen in hundreds of homes in and about Christchurch, for the simple reason that unemployed parents, on meagre relief pay, can’t have very much, if any, money over for purchases of this kind. It isn’t their fault, nor the fault of the children. Should the little ones suffer? No, you say. The Mayor, Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., is collecting funds so that every child of local relief workers will receive a tu}-. Please send your donation to the City Council office. Just give as freely as you can afford. 4
